Evaluation Rules

1. Only certified NDGA Evaluators may be used for evaluations.
2. The owner of the animal(s) is responsible for all costs of the evaluation.
There is a $10 fee to be paid at the time of evaluation.
50% of the fee goes to the evaluator and 50% will be sent to NDGA.
The owner of the animal(s) must pay expenses incurred by the evaluator.

3. Only does and bucks may be evaluated
Does must have freshened and be 18 months or older.           
Bucks must be 18 months or older and have registered offspring

4. The official NDGA evaluation sheet must be used.
The evaluation sheet must be in triplicate.
One copy (the original) will be sent to the NDGA office.
The yellow copy will be retained by the evaluator, and the pink copy will be given to the owner.

5. Evaluations will become a permanent part of the animal’s record.
An animal may be re-evaluated on request except those that score 90% or more.
An official evaluation may not be lowered, though it may be raised if the animal is re-evaluated.

6. A single animal may be evaluated.

7. Evaluators are cautious about going over a 95% score.

8. The scoring of evaluation is as follows:
90 points and up           = Excellent (E)
85 - 89 points               = Very Good (VG)
80 – 84 points              = Good Plus (GP)
70 – 79 points              = Good (G)
60 – 69 points              = Fair (F)
Below 60                     = Poor (P)

9. Registration Certificates of animals evaluated may be sent to the NDGA office for revision ($3.50)

10. Animals evaluated as Fair or Poor will not be listed in NDGA publications.
