EMILEE HAMMAN MEMORIAL

Emilee Hamman was a walking ray of sunshine. She never met a stranger without smiling and was known for her vivacious, fun-loving personality. She loved animals, especially goats. Emilee began her love affair with miniature goats in 1993 with Pygmy goats and soon fell in love with the colorful and fun Nigerian Dwarf. An avid member of FFA and 4H, Emilee was a natural showman. She was never too busy to lend a helpful tip on effective showing to a less experienced handler. Emilee's first Nigerian Dwarf goat, Starbucks Lady Spot, became the first dual registry champion west of Texas. She showed Nigerian Dwarf Goats at the NDGA National show in Virginia in 1998 and won the Tulare County Showmanship Award the year that she died.

Emilee exemplified what an NDGA Youth member should be. Her dedication, love of the breed and determination to be the best showman she could be are examples to NDGA youth members. Her love of the breed encouraged her commitment to provide them the best care possible. Her natural beauty, smiling face and helpful spirit were a blessing to others and made her a pleasure to be around.

NDGA established the Emilee Hamman Memorial Fund in recognition of the outstanding example Emilee set for future youth members. Proceeds from the program and the Emilee Hamman Memorial Show are used to reward others who carry on her legacy of dedication and commitment to the breed.

Emilee left us too soon - we miss her.
